The youths men testified that they were cavorting near Ruggles road, near the swampy shores of the Charles Mill Reservoir at night when they saw a strange, 7-foot tall being rise up from the black water front of them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/THETIS-LAKE-MONSTER_morphy.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-7411 alignleft\" title=\"THETIS LAKE MONSTER_morphy\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/THETIS-LAKE-MONSTER_morphy-167x300.jpg?resize=167%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"167\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a>The petrified boys watched in horror as this colossal creature towered above them. Later they would describe the beast as being a huge, &#8220;armless&#8221; humanoid with luminous, green eyes and large, webbed feet. The creature in question is a large <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptopia.us\/site\/category\/monsters\/lovers-lane\/\" target=\"_\">HAIRY HOMINID<\/a>, which was said to have been driven out of its sewer tunnel home near a Cleveland\u2019s Riverside Cemetery, whereupon it began stalking the <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptopia.us\/site\/category\/monsters\/hairy-hominids\/\" target=\"_\">LOVERS LANES<\/a> surrounding Charles Mill Lake.<\/p>\n<p>This filthy beast &#8212; which in many ways, except pigmentation, resembled the legendary <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptopia.us\/site\/2010\/12\/murphysboro-mud-monster-illinois-usa\/\" target=\"_\">MURPHYSBORO MUD MONSTER<\/a> &#8212; was notable for what eyewitnesses claimed were its glowing orange eyes, hence its designation as <a href=\"http:\/\/cryptopia.us\/site\/2010\/01\/orange-eyes-ohio-usa\/\" target=\"_\">ORANGE EYES<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/orange-eyes.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-6578\" title=\"orange eyes\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/orange-eyes-300x296.jpg?resize=300%2C296\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"296\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/orange-eyes.jpg?resize=300%2C296&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/orange-eyes.jpg?resize=425%2C420&amp;ssl=1 425w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/12\/orange-eyes.jpg?w=636&amp;ssl=1 636w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>It goes without saying that the legends of the Charles Mill Lake Monster and Orange Eyes have become intertwined somewhat over the years, a fact which is understandable considering that they are both huge, vaguely humanoid beasts that bear self-illuminated eyes and ostensibly share the same habitat. Nevertheless, the distinctions between the creatures are clear.<\/p>\n<p>The Mill Lake Monster is an armless, hairless, ostensibly amphibious, green-eyed monster with big webbed feet, while Orange Eyes is more akin to a prototypical BIGFOOT-like being in that it is a large, hairy ape-like creature with two arms and orange eyes. Many have, rightfully, pointed out that the so-called \u201cglowing eyes\u201d seen on these creatures may well be mere reflections caused by flashlight or headlight beams.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dover-demon.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-2706\" title=\"dover-demon\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/cryptopia.us\/site\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/03\/dover-demon-300x294.jpg?resize=300%2C294\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a>These reflections can change color depending on the angle and source light.
