\"\"<\/a>The Democrat and Chronicle<\/a> has reported that a woman claimed that she is scared to go into parts of her own home due to a horrifying animal has been under her porch all winter long… an animal which she believes dug a tunnel into the walls of her house.<\/p>\n

Rochester homeowner, Gwen Byrd, claimed to have been plagued by ta bizarre, hairless, wrinkled, rodent-like creature that “walks like a dog” for the past two years, but until her granddaughter, Chardine’e Hunt, photographed the animal outside Byrd’s house on Flora Street earlier this month she couldn’t even prove its existence.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Byrd — who continually must fill in the holes it has dug around her house — stated that she is desperate to be rid of the strange creature, which she fears may have burrowed into her home and might pose a threat to her.<\/p>\n

In an effort to identify the odd creature, Byrd has reached out to Vera Gorbunova, an associate professor in the biology department at the University of Rochester. According to Gorbunova:<\/p>\n

“I am very puzzled by this animal, and so are my colleagues. It looks like a large hairless rodent, but we cannot identify it from the picture.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Gorbunova promptly visited Byrd’s home, hoping to see the beast and, if possible, capture it for further study:<\/p>\n

“It was gone by the time I got there. I did see the holes it is making. It is believable to me… if it is a new species, that is really, really exciting. If it really is a mutation, it could be the first time for something like this.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Seneca Park Zoo Director Larry Sorel, after looking at the photo, suggested that\u00a0 it could be a hairless groundhog, but eyewitnesses insist that this animal does not waddle like a groundhog or hop like a squirrel. Most terrifyingly, according to Byrd, the creature also appears to be fearless:<\/p>\n

“It will not run or anything. It is not scared of me when I see it. I am scared of it.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The frightened and frazzled Byrd said she has “endured a nightmare” and has holes in the ground and a photo to prove it:<\/p>\n

“Nobody knows what it is… it’s the nightmare on Flora Street. Why me?”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
