Yahoo News has reported that in a bizarre twist on natural selection the Balkan states are now home to a curly-tailed pig covered in a sheep-like wool coat now known as a “sheep-pig.”
The animal in question, native to Austria and Hungary, is known in zoological circles as a Mangalitsa hogs. These apparently HYBRID-BEASTS, also known as “wooly pigs” or “curly-haired hogs,” are considered a delicacy in some circles because of their very high-quality fat and marbled, juicy meat.
These unique creatures are bordering on extinction, so, in an effort to preserve the species, the Tropical Wings Zoo in Essex, England, just took in three of the rare creatures — a male and two females — as part of an education and breeding program.
